Installing ​

Requirements ​

  • Apple Silicon Mac (M-series)
  • macOS 14 or later
  • English

Sonari is Apple Silicon only. The speech engines target the Neural Engine, so Intel Macs aren't supported. Dictation, the custom dictionary, and history all run on macOS 14+. The on-device AI transforms also need macOS 26 (Apple Intelligence).

Download and install ​

  1. Download Sonari.dmg from sonari.audio.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Sonari into your Applications folder.
  3. Launch it. Sonari lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon.

What to do next ​

On first launch Sonari opens Settings so you can pick a model and grant permissions. Walk through Getting started for the full five-minute setup, or jump straight to Models to choose one.
