Troubleshooting ​

Paste isn't working ​

Sonari pastes into other apps using Accessibility permission. If it isn't granted, Sonari can't paste, so it copies the text to your clipboard instead and you press ⌘V.

To enable automatic pasting: Settings → Permissions → enable Accessibility (this opens System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility). Toggle Sonari on.

Nothing is recorded ​

Sonari needs Microphone access to record. If you denied it, enable it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, then toggle Sonari on.

AI transforms don't seem to run ​

AI transforms need Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device Foundation Models), which require macOS 26. On earlier macOS, or if Apple Intelligence isn't enabled, Sonari inserts your transcript unchanged, with dictionary corrections still applied. This is expected: there's no cloud fallback. Your custom dictionary still works regardless.

Accuracy is lower than expected ​

  • Try a bigger model. Parakeet v2 is the most accurate.
  • Teach Sonari the words it keeps missing with the custom dictionary.
  • You can re-transcribe a saved recording with a different model without re-recording.
